A soba restaurant is like a pit-stop for adults, packed with their memories.
That’s what makes it different from those gourmet shops that are popular lately.
So…
There’s a world out there that saucy kids who like soba a little bit just aren’t ready for yet.
For youngsters who are just hungry, I’m sorry but this isn’t for you. There are plenty of other foods out there to satisfy your bellies.
If you’re thinking about collecting data to see if you can use this place for a date or entertaining clients, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.
Now then, those of you who are still left.
Where and when did you last feel truly at ease?
Where and when did you last experience spending time for yourself, away from work and your home life?
Where and when were you last free to simply be yourself without any hard work or stretching?
Is there a place like that in your daily life?
That’s what this is all about.
Adding more rest and relaxation to your day-to-day routine. This isn’t a luxury Japanese restaurant, fine dining establishment, or trendy gourmet spot.
When you enjoy a drink at this soba restaurant, you’ll realize this is what you’ve been waiting for and that living your life up until now was all worth it.
That’s right, this restaurant doesn’t satisfy your appetite, but rather your craving for true relaxation.
Why not stop by and relax here?

1st floor Ishikura stone warehouse seating, 12-mat tatami room
This Ishikura stone warehouse left behind by the Shiratori family, one of the major Otaru Shukutsu Pacific herring fishing families. Nowadays, renovation and reuse of historic Ishikura buildings is common, but when this store first repurposed the building as a soba restaurant space in the late 1930s, it was seen as a hobby project and ridiculed.
We hope you’ll visit this Ishikura which experienced the prosperous era of Otaru and spend a relaxing time in our adults-only space.
